Decisions: January 7, 2005 Meeting

1. There is a need to begin meetings at the appointed starting time. The group voted unanimously that until further notice, all academic year B&G meetings will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

2. Space is needed for new personnel being hired in the Fire Inspector's Office. G. Kraus to identify potential cottage space.

3. The Greenhouse located at the Agronomy Farm has been condemned and is about to collapse. This structure is necessary programmatically for the Plant Science Department, and is also critical for providing “swing space” in the campus greenhouse plan. J. Greger to contact M. Musgrave for building kit options to replace this greenhouse. Broader discussion regarding the funding of the greenhouse plan occurred; IDC funds will be used over the next 5-year period to complement the $3 million provided through 21 st Century UConn to facilitate implementation of the greenhouse plan.

4. B&G Website. D. Carone will upload the website with added Guidelines and Flow Chart for public access by the end of January 2005.

5. Fire alarm system upgrades were discussed. Some will be implemented immediately. Others will require being a part of an overall campus system upgrade.
